Nov 13, 2024 | San Jose Hardware Group October meetup
The InOrbit Robot Space was thrilled to welcome the newest chapter of the San Jose Hardware Group for a fantastic meet-up in Mountain View this November. This small but active group of hardware founders, engineers, designers, and investors meets regularly to help build a strong network of individuals eager to grow businesses with physical products. It was a great opportunity for anyone in the South Bay interested in the hardware start-up ecosystem to join a vibrant and dynamic part of the tech scene in Silicon Valley.

This November we were so thrilled to once again welcome the Japan Tourism Board to the InOrbit Robot Space. JTB has been bringing tech-savvy groups of young entrepreneurs to visit InOrbit regularly since we opened our doors. Every visit is a treat, allowing us to share our passion for robotics with engaged young professionals. JTB aims to leverage its comprehensive travel industry experience for an impactful cultural exchange. InOrbit is happy to join in to help them meet that goal.
October 30, 2024 | HomeBrew Robotics Club October meetup
This October the HomeBrew Robotics Club of Silicon Valley featured guest Ian Bernstein. the CEO of Hackerbot Industries and a serial entrepreneur in the robotics and AI space. Ian joined to discuss his journey in robotics including sharing behind-the-scenes highlights of robot builds and projects he has worked on personally, at Sphero, at Misty Robotics, and of course now at Hackerbot.
October 17, 2024 | After the Business 2024
When RoboBusiness ends, After the Business begins! Now in its second year After the Business is a chance for industry pros, experts, and conference superstars to gather, swap show highlights and connect with the colleagues they missed at the big conference. Thanks to everyone who took the time to drop in, grab a slice, and share some fellowship. This year, Spark made an appearance, and as it turns out, was a big hit with the MV community.

RobOpsCon returns! Presented by the Robot Operations Group (ROG), and proudly hosted at the InOrbit Robot Space in Mountain View, California this October, RobOpsCon 2024 brought together robotics experts, enthusiasts, and industry leaders for a day of insightful talks, panels, and demonstrations on the latest in robot operations and technology. As advocates for all things RobOps InOrbit was honored to be event sponsor and play host. This was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the robotics community and explore the future of robotics. October 2, 2024 | Lean In Silicon Valley - Fall networking event
Lean In is dedicated to helping women achieve their ambitions and work to create an equal world. This October they celebrated the 100,000 women who have joined Lean In Circles in 183 countries since Sheryl Sandberg wrote her seminal book "Lean In". Read more about this milestone in Sheryl's own words. This Fall networking event, run by the Lean In Silicon Valley circle was a great event where attendees expanded their network, gained new insights, and found inspiration among a community of dynamic women.
September 25, 2024 | HomeBrew Robotics Club - 22nd annual Challenge - Phase III
This September the HomeBrew Robotics Club of Silicon Valley came together for an event that truly melted attendees' positronic brains! That's right, the ultimate robotics Challenge returned for Phase III! Homegrown robots were ready to rumble in an exciting no-holds-barred competition Feats of robotic strength, dexterity, and cunning tested their robotic metal to its limits. Once again, all had a great time, as this the third and final Challenge of the year brought the maker community together.
September 11, 2024 | Freemont High Robotics visit
This September, the Freemont High Robotics team called on InOrbit for a very fun visit, and a chance to participate in the Great Robot Space Race. We love hosting robotics clubs and Freemont High has a great pedigree, fielding FTC and FRC teams in the FIRST Robotics competitions driving excitement alongside robotics education. September 3, 2024 | Maestro team visit
As you may know, InOrbit is a proud sponsor of a few local high-school robotics clubs. One such club is Maestro Robotics out of San Jose. The Maestro team competes (very successfully) on the VEX Robotics circuit. This September, before they get too busy with the upcoming competitions, we were happy to have them, and their robot swing by the InOrbit Robot Space for a team visit. This year they will be competing in the V5 High Stakes competition, and we can't wait to see them perform! Go Team Maestro!!!!
August 29, 2024 | Robotic s 101: Getting a Job in Robotics
This first speaker series discussion explored everything you need to know about getting a job in robotics. The talk discussed what kinds of jobs are available now, developing, and what paths can lead to success in these fields. Hosted by InOrbit's Sr. Director of Engineering Russell Toris this talk helped attendees discover the skills and career paths needed to thrive in the robotics industry. August 28, 2024 | HomeBrew Robotics Club August meetup
This August the HomeBrew Robotics Club of Silicon Valley featured guest Pito Salas, a long-standing HBRC member and Professor of Computer Science, Brandeis University. Pito's talk, entitled "Teaching Robots: Chaos, Creativity, Success" explored the challenges and learnings at Brandeis University, teaching Computer Science to undergrads and creating the Robotics course over the last five years. This was a truly fascinating look at the mechanics of technology education and how educators can connect with learners.
July 31, 2024 | HomeBrew Robotics Club July meetup
In July the HomeBrew Robotics Club of Silicon Valley featured guest speaker, and friend of InOrbit, Erin Rapacki, Sr Developer Relations at NVIDIA Robotics. Erin joined to discuss how to "Accelerate the Next Wave of AI Robots". She gave a great presentation exploring how developers are using NVIDIA Robotics full-stack, accelerated cloud-to-edge systems, acceleration libraries, and optimized AI models to develop, train, simulate, deploy, operate, and optimize their robot systems and software.
July 24, 2024 | 9th Annual Mountain View Technology Showcase
Mountain View is world-renowned as a center of innovation and creativity. It is home to some of the most well-known tech giants, hundreds of small businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs at the forefront of new discoveries and trends. The 9th Annual Technology Showcase was a unique live, free, and open event. It took place at the Moutain View Civic Center Plaza and was presented by the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce. InOrbit was honored to once again exhibit at the Tech Showcase. We had a great time connecting with the vibrant and exciting Mountain View community.

July 12, 2024 | Supertech FT, San Francisco AI Robotics Youth program workshop
This July, we were very excited to once again spend a day hosting students, ranging from high school to grad school, at the InOrbit Robot Space for a hands-on workshop exploring robotics, fleet management, orchestration, and the future of human-robot collaboration as a part of the SuperTech FT and Code Tenderloin 2024 San Francisco AI Robotics youth summer programming. This workshop has returned to the Robot Space for a second year and we couldn't be happier to share our passion for robotics with these students as they explore careers in engineering, computer science, mechatronics, and robotics Participants had the chance to take part in our ever popular Great Robot Space Race program who aims to teach students about robotics and collaboration, as teams competed fiercely to complete the most tasks with their robots in the shortest time. This a great chance to learn and showcase their technical skills, creativity and teamwork.
June 26, 2024 | HomeBrew Robotics Club, Silicon Valley - 22nd Annual HBRC Challenge Phase II
This June the HomeBrew Robotics Club members and observers joined us at the In Orbit Robot Space for an epic show-and-tell time! The Annual HBRC Challenge Phase II was once again upon us. This exciting live event features perilous challenges to test even the most stalwart engineers. These homegrown robots had a lot to overcome from floor to table to the dance floor. You can learn all about the challenges here. This was a great time, and we encourage anyone who missed it to join us next round for the hardest challenge yet: Phase III... more on that later though. For us, it was truly time to stop talking, and start building
June 14, 2024 | A Taste of Mountain View
This June A Taste of Mountain View returned once again to delight us with delicious local food and drink. The InOrbit Robot Space was a proud returning participant, and we hosted local vendors Stein's Beer Garden for this very fun Summer event. A one-day community extravaganza where local restaurants and businesses provide wonderfully diverse bites paired with delectable wines, A Taste of Mountain View is really a fantastic way to support Mountain View's restaurants and businesses. Our team had a great time seeing some 400 community members come through for a chance to raise a glass and see real robots at work.
June 5, 2024 | Board Game Night Working Group - Bay Area June Meetup
Board game fans united this June for the Bay Area Board Game Night Working Group's monthly meetup, at the InOrbit Robot Space. This casual, social event was directed towards local roboticists and their friends and family. It was a great opportunity to meet other roboticists, network, and play board games. We look forward to more monthly gaming meetups!
May 29, 2024 | Rakuten visit
Rakuten is a Japanese global technology conglomerate focused on online retail, fintech, digital content, communications, and more. When their Silicon Valley arm (the RakuNest) decided to host a group of visiting investors and VCs, including InOrbit investor Yamaha Motor Ventures, we were excited to participate in the tour. While InOrbit CEO Florian Pestoni joined their tour offsite to lead a discussion on robotics development, we also offered to host the visitors at the InOrbit Robot Space and provide an opportunity to allow these investors to see RobOps for themselves. By all accounts sit was a true success and we were honored to participate.
May 28, 2024 | HomeBrew Robotics Club May meetup
This month the HomeBrew Robotics Club of Silicon Valley brought a fantastic guest in to talk with attendees, live in person Chuck Pitzer, Director of Hardware Engineering, at Zebra Robotics Automation. Chuck spoke on the topic of the challenges in elevating a hobby-level project to something that can safely be introduced into the market around humans. The discussion featured an exploration of appropriate Risk Assessments, Performance Levels, and state-of-the-art safety-rated controllers and sensors.
May 16, 2024 | Trade Horizons: German Robotics Delegation
Trade Horizons is a group dedicated to helping international businesses expand into new markets. We were happy to host their recent robotics executives' tour at the InOrbit Robot Space as a part of their review of robotics innovators in Silicon Valley. Our team, supported by partners at German cleaning powerhouse Karcher provided insights and a compelling demonstration of RobOps in action.

This month the HomeBrew Robotics Club of Silicon Valley joined us at the InOrbit Robot Space for a great meetup. This month's featured guest was Samuel Tagliabracci, a Complex Robotic Integration Software Specialist at Clearpath Robotics. Convenient because Samuel discussed the fascinating story of Clearpath, and their mission to develop robust, and accessible robotic products. As usual the attendees also brought some great homemade robots to show off!

Principal, Product Development at Playground Global, Gabby Halberg led this fireside chat that dissected the current state of UX in robotics, discussed industry bottlenecks, and shared insight into the cutting-edge research that is shaping the future of human-robot interaction
Mar 30, 2024 | Argentinian tech tour
As part of InOrbi's ongoing commitment to demystifying robotics by engaging the community, whether in Silicon Valley or from 6,000 miles away, our team hosted a unique event for a group of 80 business executives, entrepreneurs, VCs, government officials, and academics from Argentina at the InOrbit Robot Space. In the Valley while attending a symposium on technology and disruption at Stanford University. Throughout the week, they exchanged perspectives and heard from some interesting speakers like Condoleezza Rice, Francis Fukuyama, and InOrbit CEO Florian Pestoni. While at the Robot Space, this eclectic group had an opportunity to see examples of embodied AI and explore autonomous robots, including those from our partners Relay Robotics and Instock.com.
Mar 27, 2024 | HomeBrew Robotics Club 22nd Annual HBRC Challenge Phase I
This March the HomeBrew Robotics Club of Silicon Valley held a special in-person and virtual hybrid 'Challenge' event. This is the first of three challenge phases held annually by the HBRC. And what was the challenge? Why, to dust off those languishing robotics projects and bring them into the light. To show the club and the world the amazing work of builders, makers anda creators. Challengers brought robots to meet the TABLEBot Challenge, the FLOORBot Challenge, the AI Challenge, the A-Mazing LineBot Challenge, the RobotArm Challenge, the RoboMagellan Trials and the Run-What-You-Brung! Plus the “Robot Dance Party” let all the robots that can Move & Groove get down. This was an epic event, and we can't wait for Phase II, to see what these creators will bring next! March 6, 2024 | Lean In IWD2024 event
International Women’s Day (March 8th) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. This year's theme of 'inspiring inclusion', is a sentiment we share at InOrbit and we were thrilled that Lean In was able to join us to host a community building and networking event at the InOrbit Robot Space. March 4, 2024 | Plug and Play Mobility visit
InOrbit is always interested in supporting new start-ups, entrepreneurs, and investors exploring robotics. As Plug and Pluy batch alumni, we are especially interested in connecting with others associated with the organization. This March we were thrilled to have the PnP Mobility team bring a group of engaged robotics and tech professionals to tour the Robot Space. Taking a hands-on approach we ran a new and improved version of the Great Robot Space Race workshop, letting our visitors experience the power of robot orchestration firsthand. Everyone had a wonderful time, and we will be thrilled to partner with PnP for more events down the road!

The Robot Space hosted the HomeBrew Robotics Club's Silicon Valley January meetup, where veteran robotics consultant Tony Pratkanisin person joined to discuss "Commercializing your Robot with Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS)". This talk explored the RaaS business model and economics as well as operational challenges often faced with great anecdotes to highlight success and innovation in the space. This was the most attended HBRC event yet!

Our downtown Mountain View hub has been a dramatic success since its doors opened a year ago, growing to host cutting-edge robot demos, educational programs, and community events. Over the past year, we've proudly showcased the value of effective RobOps through live demos, community talks, and educational initiatives. From partnering with amazing organizations like Women in Robotics to hosting STEM summer camps, we've logged over 30,000 hours of active multi-vendor robot operations using InOrbit, and connected with the Silicon Valley community. To celebrate we were thrilled to invite friends and colleagues from across the industry to join us at the InOrbit Robot Space, celebrating our first year, with high hopes for what's coming next! Jan 31, 2024 | HomeBrew Robotics Club January meetup
The Robot Space hosted the HomeBrew Robotics Club's Silicon Valley January meetup, where guest speaker Alberto Soragna, Principal Robotics Engineer at iRobot joined to share stories and discuss Building the iRobot Create 3. We love this little ROS2 educational robot as it gives users a grasp of the engineering and coding foundations needed in robotics with a scalable platform. That's why we have a few of them at the Robot Space ourselves. This was another great event and interesting discussion from the community.
